Pinay Expat In Singapore

my experiences in the preparation, jobhunting, and life in Singapore

Jobhunting Checklist of Documents 12:25 AM

Yay, I’m in Singapore! I have so many things to share. Sorry for not blogging sooner but all the preparation, travel, adjustment and exposure not to mention the jobhunting and calling home took most of my time. But, I will be paying my debt and I will be sharing these experience with you in a few blogs time.. 

Let’s start with what I have brought. Research and inquiries helped me to compile these docs.

Jobhunting checklist of Documents: (Original and photocopy)
- Transcript of Records (college and post college education)
- Diploma
- Employment Certificate
- Certificates of Trainings and Seminars Attended
- NSO Birth Certificate
- NSO Marriage Certificate
- Resume/Curriculum Vitae
- 2x2 pics
- NBI clearance

Travel needs:
- Passport (not expiring in 6 months, as required by the Immigration and DFA)
- Of course, plane ticket or flight itinerary
- Money, money, money! Peso and Singapore Dollar (SGD)

It is advisable for the photocopies to be in A4 size (8.27”x11.69”) since this is the Singapore standard size (as I was told).

NBI clearance is not that important since based on my research most companies do not require one, but I just got a copy, to be sure.

I had a problem with my diploma since my course initials “BSIE” was abbreviated and not spelled out. I had to request for a corrected diploma (last December!), and it is still not available yet. Grrrr…patience, patience. Will share this experience in another blog.

It is also convenient to have the documents scanned and saved in a flash drive. I also emailed to myself so I will have online copies just in case something will happen with my flash drive.

I placed all of my documents in a binder with plastic inserts/refills, with a cover sheet for organization. This is my first time to be this organized. Hehehe.

Well, all set for jobhunting in Singapore! Except for my diploma which I hope will be available next week. I just hope I didn’t miss anything. More blogs to share!
