Pinay Expat In Singapore

my experiences in the preparation, jobhunting, and life in Singapore

A Time for Firsts 11:01 PM

2009 is and will be an eventful year for me, it is a time for a lot of "firsts".

This is my first time to blog. (Yay!) I will be sharing with you my ups and downs, bumps and grinds...and everything else (preparations, jobhunting, working) in my soon to be Singapore experience.
Hopefully, this would be of help to other Singapore jobhunters too.

This is also my first time to leave my family. I will be leaving (for a short time, I hope!) my beloved husband (boyfriend for 9 years, husband for 7 years) and my precious 4 year old daughter. They will soon be following me in Singapore as soon as I get a job. My mother, my sisters, my mother-in-law and my sister-in-law are part of the well-wisher bunch.Boohoo..don't get me started.

I have left my first job of 8 1/2 years. Marketable for work in Singapore? We'll know soon!Although I am not that "gainfully" employed, I am thankful coz it was a growing experience.

It is my first time to experience "life" in another country. Although my 5-day stay in Hong Kong more than 10 years ago was exciting, it was too short an adventure. An initial 2-month stay in Singapore will give me the opportunity to "live" Singapore.

Not quite easy but we all have to make sacrifices and take risks, and hope that all ends well.
If unsuccessful and jobless in two months, it is back to the Philippines for me (huhuhu)

No, I am not yet a "Pinay Expat in Singapore" but I will soon be in the land of the famous Merlion. Date of arrival in Singapore will be February 15, 2009. Reason for going is to join the pinoy/pinay bandwagon: jobhunting. This is my first move and this will be definitely followed by a series of other firsts!

thanks for visiting my site!
